Trader arrested for raping minor girl

A 20-year-old trader from powerloom town of Bhiwandi here has been arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl for nearly a year, police said today.
According to A M Saikar of Nizampura police station, accused Sheram Abdul Kalam, a resident of Kidwai Nagar, Nagaon, in Bhiwandi has arrested for sexually abusing the 15-year-old since June 2013.
The victim, a tenth grade student from the same locality is six months pregnant, police said.
Kalam has been charged under section 376 of the IPC and also section 4 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 since girl is a minor, police said.
