The incident took place yesterday when the victim, Maroof Ali, tried to resist the robber from looting Rs 32,000 from him at the stand here, they said.
When he protested, the miscreant threw acid on him. Ali was immediately rushed to hospital, police said, adding the search for the accused is underway.
