: A city travel agent was arrested here today for allegedly cheating 3,500 people of Rs 10 crore in the name of offering Umrah and Ziarath pilgrimages.
An official release said Sayyed Altaf Hussain offered different tour packages for the Umrah and Ziarath pilgrimage and cheated the public by not honouring the agreement.
Nine cases have been registered in Andhra Pradesh against Hussain, it said.
He was arrested from his office in the city, from where he used to collect cash from the pilgrims.
He had opened branches all over India, they said.
