The trial runs willgo on till August 27. At present, the trial runs have been going on at the airport for domestic passengers in domestic terminal. After successful completion of the trial runs, the ministry will decide on dispensing with the stamping of hand baggage completely in the International Terminal as well as Domestic Terminal at Calicut airport, according to a release from the Airport Director today.
Presently, a tag need to be put on the hand baggage of the passengers by thesecurity personnel at the airport, as a mark of stamping.
This was in line with the ministry's decision to dispense with stamping of hand baggage tags at six airports, including Calicut, in the third phase.
