Tribal children at govt school take to street over food issue
Press Trust of India Gadchiroli Students of government-run residential schools for tribal children in the district today staged a protest, complaining that they were not being provided food.
They staged a demonstration in front of the office of Integrated Tribal Development Project here this morning.
The food at the hostels is provided by private contractors.
The students relented only when the administration made alternative arrangements.
The contractors allegedly stopped supply of meals because they had not been paid since July.
Former MLA Dr Namdeo Usendi spoke to the senior officers who assured that all the demands of the students would be met.
