Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy said from Burdwan where he today addressed a party procession that the investigation was progressing satisfactorily and efficiently and claimed that West Bengal was safe in the hands of Mamata Banerjee.
"I think the police investigation is going on satisfactorily and the job is being done efficiently," Roy told PTI from Burdwan.
State BJP president Rahul Sinha told media persons here that the Union Home Ministry in its report had revealed how the state administration was being non-cooperative with central agencies and was trying to cover up the blast.
"In the last three and a half years, law and order is being handled well by the present government. There is no law and order problem," he said.
The TMC Rajya Sabha member said, "We need not have to learn about patriotism from this party (BJP). Let BJP answer who were responsible for the demolition of the Babri Masjid and who were chargesheeted for this."
Some of the placards carried by the processionists read "there is no place for communal forces in Bengal" and "we will resist attempts to create riots in the state".
He also took on the CPI(M), saying we would not learn patriotism from them who used to say "Yeh azadi jhuta hai" also.
