Truck illegally transporting mid-day meal foodstuffs seized

A truck has been impounded in the Shahdara area here for illegally transporting foodstuffs that were meant for distribution under the mid-day meal scheme.
A senior government official said the action came after the Shahdara district adminstration received information that a mini-truck was being unloaded in the Mandoli area of Harsh Vihar which had illegally transported food materials meant for the mid-day meal scheme for schools.
As per the initial investigation, the 135 bags of food material, mainly pulses, were loaded in the Mundaka area.
"We have impounded the truck and detained its driver. We will send the seized food material to a lab for examination," the official said, adding that further inquiries are on into the matter.
