Tuki exhorts lawmakers to highlight mistakes of state govt

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today exhorted the law makers of the state to highlight the mistakes of the state government wherever necessary so that every development penny could be utilized judiciously keeping in view the policies approved by the legislators.
Inaugurating the two-day orientation programme for Parliamentary Secretaries and members of the Legislative Assembly here, Tuki said that despite having representations from different ethnic communities, the assembly has set an example for being the most disciplined house in th country.
"We have maintained the highest tradition towards a healthy democracy and will continue it to strengthen the largest democracy in the world," he asserted.
Terming legislative assembly as the 'Temple of Governance', Tuki said, whatever the state and its people achieved was nothing but the contribution of this august house.
Congratulating the organizers for holding such sensitization programme for parliamentary secretaries and MLAs in regular intervals, he said, such programme would raise the standard of business in the state's assembly where every representative could contribute constructive suggestions for healthy and people friendly governance.
"We progresses and emerges as an distinct identity in the last two and a half decades," he said, adding during these years the state assembly had played a pivotal role as the highest platform of decision making and shaping the future of the state.
"It is a day for introspection, what we all have achieved so far but what a great distance is left for us to walk to reach our goal," the chief minister emphatically said and appealed all the members to gain optimum knowledge from the experts of the Lok Sabha secretariat to ensure a strong and vibrant legislature.
On the occasion, Tuki handed over laptops to all the newly elected members of the state assembly.
