"The fifth and third units of the plants are not working now due to boiler tube puncture problem," Chief Engineer of the Thermal power plant M Thangaraj told PTI.
The snag in these two units has resulted in production shortfall of 420 mw, he said.
The first unit, which suspended production on May 8 following a failure in a boiler tube, was set set right this morning and has started to produce 210 mw power as usual, he said.
The problem at the fifth unit, which suspended production due to a boiler tube puncture on Saturday, was rectified at yesterday but the problem recurred and production was suspended this morning, Thangaraj said.
He said there are five units and each would generate 210 mw, with a total generation of 1050 mw.
