TVS Motor August sales up 46% to 2,27,482 units

TVS Motor Company today reported a 46% increase in its total sales at 2,27,482 units in August 2014.

The Chennai-based company had sold 1,55,532 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Total two-wheeler sales increased by 47% to 2,17,662 units in August 2014 as against 1,48,469 units in the same month a year ago.

Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,90,547 units last month, up 50%, from 1,27,095 units in the year-ago period, it added.

Scooters sales during the month grew by 84% to 67,240 units in August 2014 as against 36,478 units in the corresponding month last year.

Motorcycles sales grew by 36% to 83,332 units in last month as compared to 61,313 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.

During the month, sales of three-wheelers grew by 39% at 9,820 units as against 7,063 units in August 2013.

Exports in August grew by 28% to 35,074 units in the month as compared to 27,425 units in the corresponding month a year earlier.
