The duo collected around Rs 1.3 crore from the youths, a police release said today.
B Lalithamma and Chandrasekhar, in collusion with Dupattla Sashibhushan Rao (already arrested), promised these youths jobs with the Eastern Railway at Kolkata under 'Railway Ministry's quota'.
They even issued fake appointment letters to them. The youths were taken to Bandel town, 20 km from Kolkata, where they underwent 'training'.
Finally, P Raghu, one of the youths, realised that they had been taken for a ride and approached the Central Crime Station here.
The accused offered jobs such as ticket collectors, assistant station masters, section engineers, gangman, etc.
They even conducted an online test. A medical test too was conducted. The accused had also created a bogus website.
Police are trying to find others involved in the racket.
