The accused identified as Aman Virpal and Monti Rajput, were arrested last evening for allegedly killing one Ramaraju Sandesh, a native of Andhra Pradesh, at the Lotus Bouleward Apartment of Sector 100 in Noida on October 17, they said.
Virpal was a tourism student at Amity university, they added.
Sandesh and they had a fall-out last month when during a party when the former had made fun of Virpal's accent, they said.
Virpal along with his friend Rajput bought a country-made pistol from Hapur for Rs 5,500 after which they reached Sandesh's apartment and when he opened the door they fired two shots at him and fled away, Superintendent of Police (City) Dinesh Yadav said.
One of the flatmates had told the police that he heard Sandesh screaming and saying "Aman do not kill me", SHO Zahir Khan had said.
