Police Circle Officer (CO) Yashvir Singh said Kanchan had a troubled marriage and was approached by the two accused, who assured her of reconcilation of relations with her husband.
The woman, a resident of Anupshahr, panicked while they were performing rituals, and raised a commotion.
The duo, hailing from Ahar village and Shikarpur town, were later caught by police under Section 420 (Cheating) and 508 (Act caused by inducing person to believe that he will be rendered an object of the Divine displeasure) of the IPC.
