Rashid Ahmed alias Pappu and Mohammed Noor Alam were arrested from Ankurhati for pilfering the IOC pipeline in the area, CID DIG (Operations) Dilip Kumar Adak said here.
Two tankers, several barrels and around 6,000 litres of crude and several equipment used to suck out oil from the pipelines were recovered from accused, he said.
"We had information from our sources as well as from IOC officials that pilferage was happening for a long time in the area. Acting on this information, a team of CID officials raided Ankurhati and nabbed the two," Adak said, adding, the duo was part of an international racket of oil theft.
