Two men were arrested for allegedly trying to kill a man in Outer Delhi's Mangol Puri area, police said Friday.
The accused were identified as Amit (22) and Saurabh (22), both are residents of Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, they added.
On October 14, an incident of gunshot was reported at Mangol Puri police station. During the incident, a man sustained gun injuries, Seju Kuruvilla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) said.
During investigation, CCTV footages were shown to the victim. On his instance, one Amit friend of Saurabh, who is a relative of his sister-in-law Uma, resident of Vijay Vihar, Delhi, was observed as prime suspect, Kuruvilla added.
The victim disclosed that he had a dispute with Uma over a parental property, the DCP said.
However, police called Uma for her statement. She mislead them and did not disclose about Saurabh and Amit. Through CDR details, police conducted several raids and both the suspects were arrested from Vijay Vihar area, the DCP said.
During interrogation, Amit and Saurabh admitted to their involvement in attempt to murder of Satyanarayan, he added.
Uma requested them to kill Satyanaryan and gave them money to buy a countrymade pistol and one second-hand motorcycle, Kuruvilla said.
On October 14, they opened fire at Satyanaryan. Uma is still absconding, he said, adding that one countrymade pistol and a motorcycle were seized from their possession.
