The two were arrested last night from the Jaipur-Mysore Express train they had boarded. They were today produced in a court after the GRP informed the Income-Tax department of the seized cash.
Mohammed Gose (32) and Sheikh Abdul Wahid (40), both residents of Hyderabad, were carrying old currency notes of Rs 1,000 worth Rs 8 lakh, SHO, GRP station, Kota, Ganja Sahaya said.
The duo boarded the train from Kota railway station for Hyderabad around 11 PM yesterday. They could put forth a satisfactory reply when asked about the currency, he said.
