Two persons including a practicing lawyer from the district court has been booked by Thane Nagar police for allegedly fabricating court records and demanding Rs 1 lakh from another advocate, police said today.
API S A Waidande of Thane Nagar police station said an offence under sections 420,465, 468, 511 rw 34 of the IPC has been registered against the alleged accused but no arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident.
She said the offence was registred with the Mira Road police station within the limits of the Thane district rural police under category "00" and then transferred to the Thane Nagar police station for further probe.
Giving details of the case, the police official said that the arrested duo --Chintan Shah and Advocate Santosh Raut-- prepared a bogus bail order in connection with a Criminal Bail application complete with a court seal and signature and whatsapped the same to the advocate of the accused who are in jail.
In fact the accused lodged in the jail had never applied for the bail in the special case but the duo cooked up the records and made a demand of Rs 1 lakh and sent the fake bail order to the advocate via whatsapp, police said.
