Three persons have been booked on charges of harrasing and torturing a woman for dowry, police said today.
According to a complaint filed by Shahin, a resident of Sector 3, her husband, his brother and sister-in-law allegedly used to harras her for dowry, said Investigating Officer ASI Dalbir Singh.
The victim married Imran, a resident of Jhotwara in Jaipur, in 2005 and soon after her marriage she was plagued with demands for Rs 5 lakh in cash and a car.
Since she was not able to meet their demands, she was tortured regularly by the accused who also threatened to kill her.
