Two college students crushed to death by a truck

Two students of a local college were today crushed to death under the wheels of a sand-laden truck on Old Purulia road here.
Officer-in-charge of Azadnagar police station, Anjani Kumar said both youths were residents of Kapali and were second year students of J K S College.
They were returning on a motorcycle after attending tuition classes when the speeding truck hit them killing them on the spot.
The driver was arrested and the truck impounded, he said.
Angry locals put up a road blockade demanding compensation and speed breakers in the area and disrupted road traffic for over four hours. They were later persuaded to lift the blockade by senior police officials.

Police have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order following the incident, deputy superintendent of police K N Mishra said.
