A group of 30 people from Koritapadu in Guntur had come here to attend a religious ceremony. They ventured into the Bay of Bengal, but two women - Jyothi and Parvathi - went deep into the water. On seeing them two men, Yogi and Moula, went to rescue them, said Chirala rural circle inspector Bhaktavatsala Reddy.
However, Jyothi drowned and in the process Yogi too met a watery grave, the officer added.
While Parvathi returned to the shore, Moula is missing, he added.
