Two farmers were electrocuted in Anamalai in the district when they were attempting to repair a pumpset in their farm today.
Arumugam and Mayilsamy, who had taken the land on lease and planted betel leaves, have gone to water the crop this morning.
As there was some pumping problem, Mayilsamy tried to attend the motor, but suffered an electric shock. Arumugam attempted to rescue him, but he also received shock. Under the impact, both were thrown away to some distance.
Noticing this, some neighbours rushed the farmers to Pollachi Government hospital, but both died on the way, police said.
