Additional Sessions Judge M N Mansoori convicted Ashish Nanda and Salim alias Salo Khafi for kidnapping and killing Piyush Thakkar (17), son of city-based trader Jalaram Thakkar, in July 2006.
A total of nine persons were involved in the crime. While one was killed in a police encounter, six others were acquitted by the court due to lack of evidence.
Piyush was kidnapped on July 14, 2006 from near Shastri Maidan for ransom. However, his decomposed body was found in a forest near Jasdan town of the distinct two days later.
