Two government officials arrested for taking bribe

Two officials of Education Department of Palghar Zilla Parishad were today caught allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 8,000, ACB said.
Kailash Chavan and Vyankat Togare demanded the bribe from a man to facilitate transfer of his wife, who is a teacher in the district, Sanjay Mohite, DySP, Thane ACB said.
He agreed to pay the bribe amount but at the same time lodged a complaint with ACB, which laid a trap and caught the duo, Mohite said.
A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the officials, he added.
