Village panchayat had decided to drill a borewell near the house of Alka Bhoir, but a group of villagers opposed it.
While one group was in favour of drilling the borewell near Bhoir's house, another wanted it to be drilled in the centre of the village, so as to be accessible to all the villagers. The latter group also said that the present location of borewell was on the road and would hinder movement.
The matter came to a head when the drilling work started near Bhoir's house yesterday morning.
