Cracking the brutal murder of a man here which was captured on CCTV, police today arrested a 49-year-old accused and detained his minor son.
Abhabhai Amaliya (27) was allegedly attacked by Vejanand Ojhia and his son at Gokulnagar locality in the city last evening with knife and stone following an old enmity.
"We recovered CCTV footage which shows the duo purportedly stabbing Amaliya several times with a knife and then hitting him with a stone. Based on the footage, we arrested the duo today," said C Division police station inspector C N Parmar.
He said Amaliya was in an illicit relationship with a woman, which had once led to a clash between the two groups leading to an FIR.
The CCTV grab purportedly shows Amaliya and the accused duo having an altercation after which Amaliya was attacked by Ojhia's son, who pushes him to ground.
The duo was purportedly seen stabbing him several times with a knife and also hitting him on his head with a stone lying nearby.
Amaliya was left bleeding even as the duo escaped on a two-wheeler.
He remained there crying for help for nearly two hours but passers-by ignored him.
