The accused have been identified as Kare Rai (50) and Jogender Singh (45), both employees of the complainant, they said.
"The employer of Kare, who is driver, on September 12 gave him a bag containing Rs 19 lakh, asking him to give it to his friend. Later, Kare cooked up a story before the police that when he reached Maharani Bagh, two bike-borne armed assailants robbed him of the bag by throwing chili powder in his eyes," said a senior police official.
"During questioning, Kare broke down and disclosed that the entire incident was staged with the complicity of his friend Jogender Chaudhary, who was also an employee of the complainant," he said.
The bag containing 19 lakh and one mobile have been recovered from their possession, he added.
