Two held with cannabis in J-K

Two drug peddlers were arrested from Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
In a drive against narcotic drugs, police seized "charas" from the possession of two peddlers from Poonch city and arrested them, a police spokesperson said.
They have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed of Lathung Surankote and Mohd Jaffer of Poonch.
The accused are the smugglers and sell these narcotic substances in Poonch town, he said.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act lodged in Poonch Police Station in this connection.
This is the third major recovery of narcotics during the previous three months.

Interrogation of the arrested accused persons is going on and more arrests are expected as per investigations. The recovery was made by Sheezan Bhat-DySP (Ops) Poonch and under the supervision of Amit Gupta-ASP and Jatinder Singh Johar-SSP Poonch.
