Two injured after being hit by car

Two pedestrians received serious injuries when a vehicle being driven by a person allegedly under the influence of alcohol, hit them, police said today.
Four vehicles were also damaged in the incident.
38-year-old accused identified as Ganesh Shetty was arrested in this connection, police said.
According to API Sandeep s Rajput of the Vartak Nagar police station, Ganesh was under influence of drinks and hit the victims-- Varsha Shinde (47) and Omprakash Sahi (50) in Pokhran Road No. 2 area late last night, city police said today.
"When he was passing through the road near the Bethey Hospital, he dashed against four wheelers and then knocked down two of the pedestrians," he said.

The injured are being treated at a hospital.
"Immediately after the accident the police sent the accused for medical checkup and it was found that he was under influence of liquor," Rajput said.
He has been booked under various sections of the IPC and further investigation is on.
