Two Kerala-based medium sized Information Technology (IT) companies have opened offices in the Oceania countries with plans to expand business in the region.
Experion Technologies and PITS Solutions, both based in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, have set up business offices in New Zealand and Australia respectively, following their visit there as part of the Kerala IT delegation.
The delegation was organised as a part of Global IT Connect, the flagship program of the Government of Kerala and Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of IT and ITeS companies in the state.
"Collaboration is the way forward as technologies keep evolving faster than ever before. Companies can use technology developed elsewhere to augment their products and solutions, instead of reinventing the wheel.
"This is possible only if there is knowledge sharing and collaboration between companies. Global IT Connect envisages accomplishing this objective", said Government of Kerala Principal Secretary, Industries and IT, P H Kurian, who led the delegation.
The delegation, comprising top officials of 14 IT organisations from the state, held business meetings in Sydney, Melbourne (both Australia), Auckland, Christchurch (both New Zealand) and Singapore during the two-week visit.
Infopark Chief Executive Officer Hrishikesh Nair, who was a part of the delegation, said close to 10 small and medium IT companies from Kerala have offices or Joint Ventures with local partners in the Oceania region.
"We hope to strengthen the relationship in the years to come," he said.
Large homegrown companies like IBS Software and medium sized companies like Reflections Technologies, Zyxware Technologies and Accolade Technologies already have offices in Australia.
