The occupants of the van were returning after attending a marriage when the mishap occured at Nambiyampalayam, resulting in serious injuries to 17 persons, police said.
While two persons died on way to the hospital, the remaining were admitted to private and Government Hospitals, where condition of some was said to be serious, they said.
