The accident occurred near Choi village on Ramnagar-Haldwani motor road when the private bus which shuttles between Ramnagar and Haldwani overturned as it tried avoiding hitting a motorcycle coming at the wrong side from the opposite direction, an official at Ramnagar police station said.
Two persons were riding on the bike. With construction work underway on the road it has become very narrow and the driver lost control, he said.
Two bus passengers died on the spot and six others were left with minor injuries, he said.
