In a freak road accident, two people died when they fell off a two-wheeler after the door of a parked mini-truck hit them as it was opened suddenly, police said Friday.
After falling off, the riders - a man and a woman relative - came under the wheels of a tipper lorry. The man died on the spot while the woman succumbed to injuries in hospital, the police said.
The tragedy occurred when the driver of the mini-truck opened the door suddenly and the riders rammed into it and were run over by the tipper-lorry coming behind.
A case of causing death by negligence has been registered against the mini-truck driver and investigation was on, they added.
