The victims identified as Manishaben Patel (47) and Sanjay Machhi (35) died after pre-monsoon showers accompanied by strong winds hit the city last night.
While the woman died after a tree fell on her following heavy rains in Gadheda market area, the man died after a stone hit his head due to strong winds in Kisan wadi locality.
According to Deepak Gunjal, Fire Brigade officer at the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), the unseasonal rains uprooted 34 trees besides destroying four hoardings in the city.
Also, road traffic and power supply was disrupted in Panigate, Kaelibag and other localities due to the pre-monsoon showers.
