Two people were killed and one severely injured after the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a speeding truck on the Mhamsha Mandi road here this evening, police said.
The deceased were identified as Radhyashyam Bairagi (55) and Ramkumar Bairagi (50), both residents of Premnagar-II of Kota city, Anantpura police station ASI Babu Lal said.
The son of Radhyashyam Bairagi, identified as Mukesh Bairagi, sustained severe injuries and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, he said.
The truck driver fled soon after the accident, Lal said, adding that both Radhyashyam Bairagi and Ramkumar Bairagi had died on the spot.
Their bodies would be handed over to the family after a postmortem tomorrow morning, the ASI said.
A case under relevant sections was lodged against the unidentified driver of the truck and further investigation into the matter was underway, he added.
