The tank, having a capacity of 5,000 litres and installed on a cement foundation on top of the building in Shastrinagar locality here, came crashing to the ground after collapsing, Naranpura police inspector K A Makwana said.
"Two persons were killed and three others injured in the accident. All three floors of the building suffered damages in the mishap," Makwana said.
The deceased were identified as Vinod Vyas (62) and Akanksha Khatri (17), he said.
The injured persons were undergoing treatment at a government hospital, the police officer said.
