A group of around 15 robbers armed with bow-arrow, guns and wooden sticks attacked the house of one Udesinh Ravat last night. They looted gold-silver jewellery, cash and a mobile phone worth Rs 1.94 lakh from Udesinh's house and his grocery shop, they said.
They injured Udesinh's mother Kumatiben Ravat and daughter Sarlaben Ravat by attacking them with wooden sticks when they tried to resist, police said.
When a neighbour Balwantsinh Baria tried to intervene after the victims raised an alarm, the robbers shot him in the head. He succumed to his injuries at a nearby hospital, they said.
"We have lodged an FIR under sections 395 (dacoity), 396 (dacoity with murder), and 397 (robbery with attempt to cause death or injury), and Arms Act sections 25 (1), and 26(1), and are investigating the matter, though nobody have been arrested so far," Limkheda police sub-inspector P H Vasava said.
