About two lakh devotees took part in the "Rathotsavam" (chariot procession) of Lord Venkateswara on the penultimate day of Navaratri Brahmotsavam at Tirumala near here today.
Temple sources said the ancient idols of Lord Venkateswara, Sri Lakshmi and Sri Padmavathi adorned with diamond ornaments ceremoniously mounted on the elegantly bedecked giant wooden chariot amid chanting of vedic hymns by the priests.
Devotees chanting 'Govinda-Govinda' dragged the sacred chariot around the hill shrine with the help of huge ropes fitted to it.
