Acting on the tip off that two men are waiting for some opportunity at an ATM located near Neelam Chauk in Faridabad, a team of crime branch Sector-48 raided the location and nabbed the two.
The culprits have been identified as Imran and Asif, both residents of Palwal.
During interrogation the duo admitted to have robbed a man or Rs 10,000, ASI Jagbir Singh, investigating the case said that the duo have a specific modus operandi.
They used to hang the ATM machine by using their knowledge of computers. While Imran is an illiterate Asif has passed ITI. Anyone coming after that used to try withdrawal of money the machine would not respond. After the man losing hope and leaving the ATM the duo knew how to reactivate the ATM and withdraw the money, Singh said.
The police are hopeful of solving other cases of ATM fraud too with the arrest of the duo.
