Acting on a tip off, the vigilance sleuths laid a trap and arrested Tetiya Bumbar block Circle Officer (CO) Sanjit Bagchi from his government accommodation as soon as he accepted
Rs 5,000 as bribe from one Medha Lal Sah, a resident of Pareria village under Kharagpur police station area of Munger district, the release said.
Bagchi had demanded the bribe from the complainant for land mutation, it said.
During raid at his house, the vigilance sleuths seized an additional Rs 22,000 from there, the release said.
Both state government officials have been booked under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and would be produced before a designated vigilance court for judicial remand, the release said adding, the anti-corruption department has laid 35 traps and arrested 37 accused this year.
