Based on a tip-off, police intercepted a car, and one truck loaded with illicit timber being transported from forest towards Gool belt of the district last evening, they said.
During the checking it was revealed that one Mohd Ismail, who is a forester of Bhudhan Block, was driving an Ambassador car and escorting the truck loaded with timber which was being driven by Mohd Yousaf, police said.
On a specific input regarding the smuggling of illegal timber in Gool area, police swung into action and setup a check-point on Gool Dhagan Top road, a police officer said.
The whole timber consignment was seized on the spot and a case has been lodged against the two accused. Investigation is being taken-up, police said.
