Two persons relieve nun of Rs 1.40 lakh

Two persons today relieved a nun of Rs 1.40 lakh, which she had withdrawn from a local bank, after distracting her, police said.
Sister Regina Mary of the Salem Saint Mary's Catholic Institution had withdrawn the money from the Indian Bank branch for some office work and and gone to a courier office by car.
Her driver had gone to the office when two persons approached her and said some currency notes were lying on the road. When she bent down to check, the duo decamped with the bag containing the cash, police said.
A case has been registered.
