Two sentenced for five year in jail for cow slaughter

A court here has sentenced two persons to five year imprisonment for slaughtering cows in Shamli district in 2007.
Additional district sessions judge Manoj Kumar yesterday convicted Israil and Monu and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 each.
According to government lawyer Javed Ali, police arrested Israil and Monu during a raid and seized cow meat from their house in Azizpur village under Jhinjhana police station of Shamli district on August 20, 2007.
