Acting on a tip off, DRI sleuths nabbed two smugglers identified as Pradeep Yadav and Ramkshtriya Yadav, when they were standing near the railway junction on their way to Bairiya bus stand before going to Bettiah, the sources said.
The sleuths recovered bundles of fake currency notes in denomination of Rs 500 from a bag carried by the duo, they said.
The smugglers had bought the fake currency notes from a supplier by paying Rs 3.40 lakh in cash and planned to circulate it in Bettiah, the sources said, adding the two have been sent to jail.
