"A woman was intercepted by customs officials after her arrival from Hongkong here yesterday. On personal search, eight pieces of gold bar weighing 2.7 kgs were recovered," a press release issued today by the customs said.
The value of the gold seized from the woman, who hails from neighbouring Ghaziabad, is assessed to be Rs 68.51 lakh, it said.
Another woman was intercepted by the customs after her arrival from Dubai yesterday. On detailed examination of her baggage, ten pieces of gold bars weighing 1.1 kg (valuing about Rs 29.08 lakh) were recovered, the release said.
