The Governor was speaking at a programme in ONGC Academy here to mark the state-run firms' Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Paul also said girls from underprivileged families in remote hill areas of the state must be supported for good higher education.
Congratulating all employees of the organisation on the occasion, he said the Doon valley, the headquarters of ONGC, could not be imagined without its existence,as the growth of this corporate giant, since its inception in 1956, has been almost synonymous with the growth of Dehradun.
