U'khand govt directs PWD to expedite preparations for monsoon

Uttarakhand government today asked PWD engineers to ensure removal of the debris from the road between Dar and Sobla near Dharchula before the onset of monsoon and finish all road construction work up to Sela by December this year.
The instructions were issued to PWD engineers at Bogling by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar after touring on foot villages located in the higher reaches of the Himalayas, an official release said here today.
The chief secretary also examined the Mansarovar yatra route, met villagers on the way and listened to their problems.
He directed officials to speed up reconstruction work en route to Mansarovar so that everything is in place before the start of the yatra.

He also examined the condition of Kanchyoti bridge and asked the PWD chief engineer to take all safety measures before the onset of monsoon.
