Citing a wide gap between demand and supply of power in the state in the wake of the June floods, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna had recently met Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde and requested him to increase the 350 mw of electricity it gets from Muzaffarnagar-Roorkee feeder.
The Chief Secretary met Union Power Secretary V K Sinha and Central Electricity Authority Chairperson Nirja Mathur in Delhi today in this connection and was assured by them that the state will get maximum power from the feeder as requested by the CM, an official release here said.
The unprecedented natural calamity in Uttarakhand last year caused large-scale damage to power houses and hydel projects in the hill state.
The Chief Secretary was assured that the final clearance for the Nadprayag hydel project will be given by February, whereas a meeting will be held in Delhi with him and Himachal Chief secretary to end the stalemate over the multi-purpose Kisau dam project.
