Gujarat's Mohit Bondre and Maharashtra's Sudipta Senthil Kumar upset seeds to move into the quarterfinals of the boys and girls singles at the 12th Ramesh Desai Memorial Tennis Nationals for Boys and Girls under 16.
The tournament is being hosted by the Cricket Club Of India (CCI).
Sixteenth seeded Mohit Bondre knocked out top-seeded Krishan Hooda of Chandigarh 6-4, 6-4 to record the biggest upset of the day, while in the girls third round fourteenth- ranked Sudipta Senthil Kumar ousted third seeded Sunskruti Damera of Telangana 6-2, 6-2 to make it to the last eight, a media release said.
In other minor upsets, Delhi's Nishant Dabas outplayed MP player and tenth seeded Denim Yadav 6-2, 6-1 while unseeded Vipasha Mehera of Tamil Nadu upset eleventh seeded Richa Chaugule 6-2, 7-6(5).
