Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have evinced interest in putting money in a range of sectors in the State.
Food processing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, energy, diamond and precious stone segment are some of the areas where the investors have shown interest, he said here.
Chouhan was talking to reporters at the Secretariat on his return from a trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where he scouted for investments and held deliberations with entrepreneurs and businessmen.
The Chief Minister said Gulf airline Emirates has agreed to launch the State's first international flight from Indore to Dubai.
Besides, Air Arabia has shown keen interest in launching international operations from Madhya Pradesh, he said.
Chouhan informed that he met over 250 investors in the Gulf nation and invited them to take part in a three-day global investors summit to be held in Indore from October 8.
At the event, the Chief Minister said, he would present a progress report on earlier investor summits.
He said talks were also held on setting up a Smart City in the State on the lines of high-tech urban centres in the Gulf countries.
On the issue of ongoing power crisis, Chouhan said it would be resolved within a week's time. The electricity demand has risen to 7,000 MW and the State Government has made arrangements for procuring 8,000 MW soon.
