Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said the UAE is looking forward to creating stronger and stable systems in the region that can support each other in the face of extremism.
He voiced the UAE's concern about spread of Daesh, also known as the Islamic State group, that threatens the political systems in the region.
The UAE is looking forward to maintain the integrity of the national state that "we see threatened in more than one Arab country," Gargash told the media here yesterday.
Gargash called for addressing the fragmentation happening in the Arab world through cooperation among nations to tackle "this dangerous phenomenon," according to official WAM news agency.
The UAE minister said he holds the international community accountable for the spread of IS and other terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq, noting that similar situation may occur in Libya, which has become a sanctuary for extremism and terrorists who embrace the Muslim Brotherhood ideology.
This month, the UAE designated the Muslim Brotherhood and dozens of other Islamist groups as terrorist organisations.
The Emirates have taken a firm stance against the Brotherhood since its ascendance in Egypt in the wake of the Arab Spring, and the oil-rich Gulf neighbours are strong supporters of Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi.
Relations between Egypt and the UAE strengthened following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
But Gargash stressed on Egypt's pivotal role and status in the Arab world, noting that moderate Egypt contributes to the moderation in the Arab world.
